We continue with behind the scenes at Logisoft 👀 Today:

What is Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) and why is it so important for us?

In order and parcel handling, efficiency, performance and product safety are crucial. ZPA technology offers a smart solution, ensuring items on conveyors to maintain a safe distance from each other. By dividing the conveyor into zones with dedicated sensors, controllers and motor drives, ZPA minimizes parcel contact and prevents collisions, keeping a steady and seamless flow of orders.

How does ZPA look like at Logisoft?

  1. All our conveyor lines are segmented into zones, each equipped with individual sensors and controls.
  2. When a parcel reaches an empty zone, it triggers a sensor that halts movement in that particular zone.
  3. If the next zone is occupied with a parcel, movement in the previous zones are held back, preventing contact between the two parcels.
  4. Once the next zones are clear, parcel movement resumes, allowing for controlled accumulation without any pressure building up.

The advantages of this type of material handling are obvious:

  1. Smoother more efficient order handling with a smaller number of damaged goods.
  2. Higher energy efficiency with lower operational noise: zones are only activated when needed.
  3. Modular flexibility: the whole system can be configured with different smaller zones – like Lego.

ZPA is not a new concept. But with the help of our advanced software algorithms, we make our ZPA technology for every new project more efficient and with it order handling faster. Continuous improvement at its best! 🚀
